Under the Texas sky

Houston, Texas.  The Rodeo.  Even if I spent a few hours writing about every single detail of the trip, still I would not be able to express just how amazing the trip was.  One thing that I can very easily say, though, is this: certainly I have never seen as many rhinestones, sequins, and other sparkly things ever before!

During all of those fun times at the rodeo, I especially found myself oohing and ahhing over the precious, little children dressed up like cowboys and cowgirls.

That’s right… They were absolutely precious!

We ate wonderful food, especially “Tex Mex,” which apparently is just called Mexican food over there! 😉

I even got a small taste of my life-long dream to own a horse one day,

and I loved every second of it!

Most of all, I was so grateful for the invitation to come and join this wonderful family on their trip!  They even took me in as one of their own 🙂

All in all, it was a trip that I will never forget!

Whether in a crowd of 75,000 people or standing alone next to a horse after a trail-ride, there I was under that big, Texas sky…

…and I thanked God for every bit of it.

  2. I bought two of my favorite horses at the Houston horse show and sale. One was owned by George Strait and the other is a beautiful paint mare who gave me a beautiful paint baby two years ago. One of my favorite places to go. Oh, and I love to watch the working horses work. Just. Fun place!

    • Oh really? I didn’t know that’s where you had bought them! When you hosted Holly’s wedding reception, I loved spending time on the fence looking at your beautiful horses. The rodeo sure is a fun place, and I certainly hope to go back often 🙂
