Walking Billboard in Everything

If you read my last post, you may remember that I am on a quest to do something out-of-the-box everyday in order to experience God.  To rise up to this challenge, I grabbed my camera, jumped on my bike with near flat tires (oops!…not a good idea), and hit the roads around campus.  At last, I arrived at the bookstore, and knowing me, I became super excited.

Averting my eyes from all the books on shelves around me–after all, there was just too much temptation to buy even more–I went straight upstairs to the area with greeting cards.  There among many, one card in particular stood out.  “I wanted to do something, anything, but I didn’t know what to do.  So I did this.  This is my something.”

I read the card, and I began to wonder, What is my something?

Do you ever wonder what your “something” is?

God has given each one of us different skills and passions that give us a special place in His body.  But here’s where we can sometimes be wrong in our belief as Christians…Sometimes, we let ourselves become passive in participating in the Body of Christ.  I know this from experience because I have definitely been one to even use “God’s will is what will happen, so just don’t worry!” as an excuse to, in essence, be lazy.

While I certainly believe that God’s will truly will be what happens, I also believe that Paul spoke the truth in saying that we are ambassadors for Christ! (2 Corinthians 5:20).  Think about it… We, in essence, are walking billboards for Christ!

No matter where you going or what you are doing, be aware that not just your “something” but your “everything” is always advertising how we are changed from the inside out whenever Christ’s love lives inside of us.

So go out into the world filled with encouragement.  Be a walking billboard for Christ in all that you do!
